Best Mother’s Day Gifts For 2021

My Mum was really special. I know that everyone (well almost everyone) thinks that, but my Mum really was super special.

It’s coming up to 4 years since we lost her.  I miss her every day and as I think of Mother’s Day coming up, I miss her more.

Let me tell you why she was so special.

My Mum was a ‘let’s get stuck in’ kind of person.  No matter what needed to happen, she just got it done. She was the amazing person to have around in a crisis – she never got flustered, she took control, and everyone knew exactly what they had to do.

My Mum was an amazing baker. You may remember her Never Fail Chocolate Cake recipe that I shared a while ago.

When I was at school, my friends used to ask if they could trade my homemade biscuits from my lunchbox with their bought ones.  Of course, I thought that bought biscuits were such a treat.  Little did I know that what she put in our lunchboxes was really special – made with love. You certainly can’t buy that.

Speaking of lunchboxes, my Mum used to make about 30 sandwiches a day for my family – my brothers used to eat 12 each!

My Mum was such a caring person – she would always ‘do’ for everyone else.

I remember when she broke her hip, she asked the doctor while still in the emergency room when she could go home.

She was quite upset when she was told it would be weeks – not for herself – she said, “I can’t stay here, I have to deliver meals on wheels to the old people on Wednesday”. She was 82!

I have to stop there because it’s making me tearful. (And it’s not just about the terrible hair choices I made in the photo below.)

As Mother’s Day approaches, I started thinking about what I would like for Mother’s Day, so I’ve written a list to give you some ideas about what to buy for your Mum (and hint, hint to my kids!).

It may seem too early, but it’s only eight weeks away.  If you want to buy online, now is the time to start!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

So here goes, here’s my list of 10 items that would make great Mother’s Day gifts.

1   Braun Silk-epil 9 Epilator

Braun Silk-epil 9 Epilator

Let’s face it, as we age, all women need one of these.  I used to have one – in fact, I sadly put it in the bin last week because, after many years of hard work, it gave up the ghost. This is an excellent appliance to use – if you’ve never tried an epilator, this one really doesn’t hurt that much and is very effective.

2   Sheepskin Slippers

Everyone needs slippers! These ones from Amazon are very cute, made from sheepskin.

3   Best Mom Ever Coffee

This is super cute and a bit naf all at the same time! I can just imagine sipping my hot chocolate from this wonderful cup.

4   LilySilk Silk Pajamas

In my humble opinion a pair of silk pyjamas is the ultimate luxury.  I’ve never owned any but I’d love to.  These ones are absolutely gorgeous.

5   But Where Do I Put the Couch?

This wonderful book was written by my blogging mentor KariAnne Wood along with one of my favourite bloggers, Melissa Michaels.  It’s a great book, packed full of wonderful ideas.

6   Jade Roller

Jade rollers are said to do everything from sculpting, toning, and firming skin to boosting circulation, enhancing glow, reducing puffiness, minimizing finelines, improving elasticity, detoxifying, and helping skincare products penetrate better.

What Mom doesn’t want that!

7   Apollo Toolkit

If your Mum is a bit handy (like me), she might appreciate having her own tools that she doesn’t have to share with anyone.  These ones are pink so the men in the household aren’t going to be seen dead with them.

8   The Ordinary Facial Treatment Set!

I love The Ordinary products.  This wonderful set includes Vitamin C Cream, Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Niacinamide Serum! It works to brighten and hydrate the skin and reduces skin blemishes.

9   Personalised Wine Glass Charm

If you’re more into making something personal for your Mom, why not make her some personalized wine glass charms? These take about 10 minutes to make.

10  Heart Tassel Pendant Necklace and Earring Set

Also a gift you could make.  This heart tassel pendant and necklace set is stunning and could work for your home.  In fact, this is what I gave my sister for Christmas – she’s also a Mum.
