Orange Cleaner

Ok, so I’ve fallen in love ... with a cleaning product! Now isn't that sad!

The good news it’s great for cleaning all sorts of things – especially if you team it up with baking soda – and it’s super easy to make.

Here’s the recipe:

Orange peels (I demand that my kids bring them home from school)
White vinegar

Put the orange peels in a large jar and cover with the vinegar.  Leave to stand for 3-4 weeks, until they peels start to turn a bit of a grey colour (you’ll know it when you see it).  Strain off the “juice” and bottle it in a spray bottle.

It’s that easy!

By the way, I don't wait till I have a whole jar full of peels before adding the vinegar.  Just throw them in as they arrive each day until it's full.

Now, how do I use it?  I particularly love to clean my ceramic top cooker with it.  I sprinkle the top with baking soda then spray on the vinegar.  Leave it for about five minutes and wipe it off.  What I do next (which puts me in the anal housewife category) is spray it with a light mist of Eucalyptus oil spray and then wipe it with a paper towel – this makes it shine like new.
