Orange & Cinnamon Hand Sanitizer

Hand sanitizers can be really nasty.  They have some really strong chemicals in them and can cause all sorts of allergies and skin disorders.  My son recently did an experiment at school where they swabbed the school computers versus their own laptops.  The germs on the school computers were, well, let's not go there!  For days when you have to use "communal computers" or touch other things were there are likely to be lots of germs, having a bottle of this hand sanitiser in your bag is a good idea.

Ingredients:

  • 250 mls distilled water
  • 1 dessertspoon xanthum gum
  • 3 mls cinnamon tincture
  • 100 mls cinnamon hydrosol
  • 50 mls 40% vodka
  • 10 drops cinnamon essential oil
  • 10 drops orange essential oil

Method:

Add the xanthum gum to the water and mix really well until there are no lumps - this will form a gel.  Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.  That's it, it's that easy.

If you're going to carry it around in your bag, it's probably a good idea to put it in a squeeze bottle, instead of a pump.

Enjoy!
