The Hair Cut

With the temperature now sitting in the mid to late 20s, we decided that it was time for Jesse to have a haircut.  You will see from the photo he was in need of one - drastically!

I know, I know, it's criminal to cut off the curls but they are hard work and it gets so dry and crispy, this is truly the best way.  You don't have to worry, within a few days his hair will be trying to curl again, it only takes about an inch.

There were tears and moaning and complaining about the itchy hair.  Honestly, this boy's hair is like wire to cut.  The clippers were used but at first the hair resisted so I had to go in with the scissors.

After the scissors, came the clippers.  His hair just laid down when you put the clippers near it.  Eventually about an hour later, we finally managed to cut through the bulk and get down to the nitty gritty.

After we cut it, he cried and said "I want my curls".  For a boy who spent the first 7 years of his life begging to have his head shaved so he could have straight hair, this was indeed a strange comment.  Perhaps, at 9, he has realised that the girls love the curls - perhaps watching Nick Jonas has taught him this.

If you'd like to see more photos of this fun event I've posted them in the photo gallery.
