So, here'a question - what do you think of net curtains?
Personally I absolutely hate them but they appear to be a necessary evil in our new house. Our house is so close to the street that, if we didn't have the dreaded things, the neighbours, and everyone who walked by for that matter, would be able to see what we we are having for breakfast!
Why do I hate them so much?
Firstly, because they obscure the view - I know I just said that's an advantage and the only reason we have them. I'm fickle like that.
Secondly, they get in the way. Take Rosie for example - she likes to sit on the windowsill and look out but the net curtains get in the way. Also, they get all caught up in the curtains when you pull them so, at night when the drapes are pulled, you can see them all bunched up from the outside. I know that I don't generally see them when they are all bunched up on the outside but it still annoys me.
More than net curtains themselves, I absolutely hate net curtains that are too long. In my humble opinion nets show sit on the windowsill, not below. If they are left longer than the windowsill then they get caught up in the drapes even more.
When we moved into this house all the nets were down below the windowsills. You will see from the photo how funny they look hanging down below the windowsill.
So, I have taken the time to shorten them all to the correct length. I know it's a small thing and you will probably find it ridiculous but hey, it's just one of those things that bugs me.
What do you think? Am I being pedantic or do you hate them as much as I do?
